WHY SPOKANE?
The Pacific Northwest is a captivating region from which legends have sprung. One of these legends just so happens to be the city of Spokane. Along the banks of the Spokane River, multiple bands of the Spokane Tribe relied upon the abundant fishing grounds that they called the Spokane Falls. The name "Spokane" is derived from the Salish term meaning "Children of the Sun." Two centuries after this city was founded in 1881, Spokane has become a mixture of urban chic and outdoor adventures that has something for everyone.
Why do locals love Spokane? It may depend on who you ask but most will say its the vibrant downtown culture, the plethora of outdoor recreation, the rich food and art scene, and the numerous waterways within a close driving distance.
